Cleaning & Organization

Check out the DIY cleaners we use at Farmhouse 181 on the daily along with other organization and routines that keep us sane!

At Farmhouse 181 we have a husky who sheds like none other, livestock, chickens,  a quarter mile long gravel driveway and wild country kids. There is no shortage of dog hair, dust and dirt, muddy shoes, laundry pocket treasures, or stinky sheep clothes...if you know, you know.

When I became a Mom the sanctification process truly began. The stuff multiplied, I did not have the built-in routines of homemaking necessary to cope, and was always adding to the clutter with new items that promised to be life changing. Guess what...most weren't. I have been completely stressed over the status of my home so you don't have to be. Through some trial and error and frustration along the way, I have finally gotten into a cleaning routine...I use that term loosely...with no-fuss products that keeps my home CLEAN ENOUGH and in decently organized status versus complete chaos.

To the awesome teachers and staff who work the school pickup/drop off lines, let your mind be at ease...our house is definitely cleaner than our car! We live 3 miles down a gravel road and the mud and dirt struggle is real and sometimes not worth fighting.

I will never have THE cleanest home, the most organized pantry, or a Pinterest perfect retreat. If these tips seem like, well duh, and a no brainer for you, then you are far better in this area than I am and check out some of our other fun posts! But if you are struggling with overwhelm in your home and just need some basics to take back your life and time, pick a topic and read more. Let's crush the basics together.

Run your home, don't let it run you! See some of the things that work for us, or have not worked for us, to keep our home from looking and smelling like the barn!
