When I started this blog, I really had to analyze my why. It boiled down to me wanting to offer real advice that will actually help make someone a better spouse, homemaker, mom, and all-around better person for the ones that matter most and to give glory back to God, our Creator! Through Him, we have enough, and His provision is something we can stand on and trust in!

We are constantly bombarded with ads that tell us we need this latest and greatest (insert whatever item it is here). Sometimes, the recommendation is great, but most of the time it leaves you with some kind of negative feeling...a feeling of being pressured, inferiority, FOMO, frustration because you don't look like the person advertising it, you just flat out can't afford whatever they are offering, OR the feeling comes when you actually try or buy their recommendation and it's plain trash.

I want Farmhouse 181 to be what I wish to consume from others. A place with some honesty and integrity. That being said:

• I will never recommend something I don't use myself or would never use
• I will never recommend or knowingly promote something that doesn't fit our values
• I will always tell you my true first-hand experience with something or if, by chance, I had a change of heart with something and why
• I will always tell you if I have no experience with said recommendation and it is being given as a substitution, or in a brainstorming type nature
• I will always tell you my viewpoint on the positives and negatives of a recommendation

If you can't tell, being sold on something dishonestly burns me up. Just know that I am really passionate about being helpful and not a hinderance to your homemaking goals. Anything mentioned in this section is really something that has helped in my homemaking journey, something I love, or something Farmhouse 181 literally couldn't function without!
