Cook/boil your pasta of choice to your desired doneness.
Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
Saute onion in your skillet or sauce pan over medium heat in the butter until it is translucent and begins to brown.
Add your minced garlic, chicken and bacon bits. Stir around for a minute or so until both are warm and fragrant.
Add the heavy cream to your pan and turn your heat to medium to low.
Add in all of the seasonings aside from salt and keep stirring your heavy cream in the pan until it begins to bubble.
Once the heavy cream has just began to bubble for a minute or so, add in your pasta water and bring back to a simmer.
Add in the parmesan cheese once the sauce comes back to a simmer. Stir until cheese is melted and combined.
Do a taste test to see how much salt you need. Salt to taste, bring to a simmer, then remove from heat.
Add the cooked and drained pasta into the saucepan and combine thoroughly to coat all of the noodles with sauce.
Serve and enjoy!
